14 de abr. de 2009 · Lost in Austen is not a "sequel" nor is it a parody. It strikes me as being occasionally satirical, but of a certain set of Jane Austen fans, not of Jane's work. I think we have a mistaken idea of who Jane Austen was, and that largely from the picture her family took great pains to shape for us.

Lost in Austen is an ingenious reinvention of the classic novel, Pride and Prejudice, in which Jane Austen's story is thrown off track by a very modern heroine, Amanda Price. Amanda has become increasingly bored and frustrated with modern life. Amanda arrives at Netherfield to discover that Jane has caught a serious fever and is taken to bed.
