Pennsylvania Western University (PennWest for short) is western Pennsylvania's second largest university. Composed of three sister institutions that are steeped in history, tradition and academic excellence, it embodies the best of the past and the promise of the future.
Undergraduate Aid Program. Penn is the largest university with a program that enables eligible undergraduates to receive grant-based financial aid packages for eight semesters. The program applies to traditional, dependent students in the four undergraduate schools, who are pursuing their first baccalaureate degree.
Penn has four undergraduate schools that each offer unique opportunities, all on one campus. And our students have access to all of them. You’ll choose a school or program to serve as your home base, but you’ll never be limited to just one thing. Take classes that interest you, regardless of the school they're in. Penn’s core campus covers more than 279 acres in a contiguous area of West Philadelphia's University City. All of Penn's schools and most of its research institutes are located on this campus, with the surrounding neighborhood including restaurants and pubs, a large supermarket and cinema.
What Penn Looks For. Each year, the University of Pennsylvania Admissions Selection Committee seeks to enroll a class of 2,400 scholars, scientists, artists, athletes, innovators, and entrepreneurs. We want our campus to reflect the world around us, so we enroll students who come from all corners of the world and a wide range of backgrounds.
