Depuis sa création en 1932, l’école d’art londonienne Central Saint Martins (CSM) a formé certains des plus grands créateurs de mode. Créé par la peintre britannique Muriel Pemberton décrite comme la fondatrice " des études de mode en Grande-Bretagne ", l’établissement de renommée internationale a connu des débuts modestes.
