Ever since KISS, she detested for being put in a one-hit wonder pedestal by moving on and straying away to her own path. This album is a continuation from E•MO•TION in terms of sound, but with different mood. Dedicated shows how Carly grows as a musician.
9. This effort by Rae Jepsen is definitely making us firmly believe in her as an artist, more than we ever did. E-Mo-Tion is a combination of great and accessible lyrics, great production,and ,as it implies, a lot of emotion. I dare to say it is one of the best POP records of the year and utterly, the most underrated.

28 de jul. de 2023 · Carly Rae Jepsen has become one of our generation’s most prolific and consistent pop masterminds. Every album is a gem - hard to know which one surpasses the other (if it even matters - but I think this one takes the cake).

Contrary to E•MO•TION's thumping 80s beats and Dedicated's neutral and slinky synths, The Loneliest Time offers a collection of earthy, guitar-laden tracks infused with disco-eque finish. It is a step further away from Carly's usual sound, but listening to the songs, it just feels exactly like her.
