31 de mar. de 2024 · Frederick II (born July 1, 1534, Haderslev, Den.—died April 4, 1588, Antvorskov) was the king of Denmark and Norway (1559–88) who failed in his attempt to establish complete Danish hegemony in the Baltic Sea area in the Seven Years’ War of the North (1563–70) but maintained enough control over the Baltic trade to guide Denmark to a period of prosperity in the later years of his reign.
