16 de ago. de 2024 · The Venice Film Festival was founded in 1932 as the Esposizione d’Arte Cinematografica (Exhibition of Cinematographic Arts), which was a part of that year’s Venice Biennale, the second to be held under the aegis of the Italian fascist government.

The 80th Venice International Film Festival is organised by La Biennale di Venezia and directed by Alberto Barbera. It took place at Venice Lido from 30 August to 9 September 2023. The Festival is officially recognised by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association).
The 74th annual Venice International Film Festival was held from 30 August to 9 September 2017. [2] The jury president of the main competition was announced as the American actress Annette Bening on 5 July 2017. [3] Downsizing, directed by Alexander Payne, was selected as the opening film of the festival.
The 79th Venice International Film Festival is organised by La Biennale di Venezia and was held on the Lido di Venezia from 31 August to 10 September 2022. The Festival is officially recognised by the FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association).
The 75th Venice International Film Festival was held from 29 August to 8 September 2018. Mexican film director Guillermo del Toro was the Jury President of the main competition. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] First Man , directed by Damien Chazelle , was the festival's opening film. [ 3 ]
The festival poster featured Nastassja Kinski in front as reminiscent of Wim Wenders's Faraway, So Close!, [8] while in the background it featured the character of Antoine Doinel portrayed by Jean-Pierre Léaud from François Truffaut's 1959 drama film The 400 Blows, which also appeared on the 71st Venice International Film Festival poster.
