Henry Hugh Arthur FitzRoy Somerset, 10th Duke of Beaufort (4 April 1900 – 5 February 1984), married Princess Mary of Teck. He left no issue and was succeeded by David Somerset, a first cousin twice removed. Lord Beaufort died in 1924, aged 77, at Badminton House, Gloucestershire. He is buried at St Michael and All Angels Church, Badminton .
In 1418 he became 3rd Earl of Somerset, having succeeded his elder brother Henry Beaufort, 2nd Earl of Somerset (1401–1418), who died unmarried, aged 17, whilst fighting for the Lancastrian cause at the Siege of Rouen in France, under the command of their uncle Thomas Beaufort, Duke of Exeter (1377–1426).
Somerset was the son of Henry Somerset, 5th Duke of Beaufort and Elizabeth Boscawen. He was styled by the courtesy title Marquess of Worcester from his birth until his accession to the dukedom in 1803. [1] He was educated at Westminster School, London and graduated from Trinity College, Oxford, on 28 June 1786 with a Master of Arts .
