3 de ago. de 2020 · John Couch, born on 5 June 1819, was the oldest child of Tabitha Knill Grylls and Thomas Adams, who lived on Lidcot Farm in Laneast near Launceston in Cornwall. They were tenants of John King Rennall Lethbridge, had a large family of seven children, and Adams’ biographers often mention their relative poverty.
John Couch Adams was born in England in 1819. He was born to a farming family. When Adams was very young he showed a talent for doing math. He could do very difficult math problems in his head. Adams went to St. Johns College in Cambridge to study math. While a student there he used math to predict the presence of a new planet beyond Uranus.

Neptune’s outermost known ring and a 1996 asteroid are both named after him and The Adams Prize, awarded annually by the University of Cambridge, commemorates his prediction of Neptune’s position.
