30 de mai. de 2024 · Dear Marists of Champagnat: We celebrate together with joy the feast of St. Marcellin Champagnat and give thanks to God for the gift of our Marist charism, a gift to the Church and to the world. At the present time, in many countries across the world, we are living through complex social situations, experiencing war and insecurity.
On 3 July, in the presence of the Pope, the decree on the miracle attributed to Blessed Marcellin Champagnat was promulgated. This was the only one presented which dealt with a canonization. In this Act there were presented also another thirteen decrees concerning miracles for beatifications, heroic virtue and martyrdom.

My first thought as I write this introduction is one of gratitude to all those Marist educators whose love for children and young people and whose dedication to their mission as educators has enabled them not only to prolong the spirit we have inherited from Marcellin Champagnat but also to enrich it during the 181 years of our Marist history.
Marcellin Champagnat, a Marist Priest, dreamed of a worldwide community of brothers wholeheartedly devoted to making Jesus Christ known and loved among children and young people, especially the least favored. He embraced God’s call to found the Marist brothers, the religious congregation that continues to pursue his dream today.
The core of Marcellin Champagnat’s vision of mission was “ to make Jesus Christ known and loved ”. He saw education as the way to lead young people to the experience of personal faith and of their vocation as “ good Christians and virtuous citizens ”.
