14 de set. de 2023 · Philip Hamilton was born on January 22, 1782, in Albany, New York, the first born child of Alexander Hamilton and his wife, Eliza Hamilton. As PBS notes, he was named for Eliza’s father, the Revolutionary War general Philip Schuyler.
SCHUYLER, PHILIP JOHN (1733-1804), American soldier, was born at Albany, New York, on the 11th of November 1733. The Schuyler family was established in the New World by Philip Pieterse Schuyler (d. 1683), who migrated from Amsterdam in 1650, and whose son, Peter (1657-1724), was the first mayor of Albany and chairman of the board of Indian commissioners of the province.
Philip Schuyler’s daughter, Elizabeth (1757 – 1854), married Alexander Hamilton (14-Dec-1780). Schuyler was a United States Senator twice (1789 – 91; 1797 – 98). According to a 1790 census, the Schuyler Mansion is home to eight family members and thirteen slaves.
