The SBD-3 Dauntless Dive Bomber played a crucial role in stopping Japan, sinking several carriers and other ships. The Fairey Barracuda contributed to sinking the Tirpitz and was used as both a dive bomber and torpedo bomber.
The ground forces of Nazi Germany drove into Poland at the beginning of WWII, and bombers of the Luftwaffe, the German air force, began airstrikes on an undefended village, Wieluń, in central Poland. Germany was convinced that their Luftwaffe was unbeatable and far superior to their targeted countries' air forces…
The world saw the first bomber in action during the Italo-Turkish War of 1911 when Turkish bombers were put in action. Within a few years, World War I kicked off and with haste, the competing countries put their air forces into action. Bombing raids became a norm during World War I and ever since then, each leading power tried to evolve its airforce in the best possible manner.

My favourite bomber of the war, the Wellington was a great torpedo bomber though lacked ability to carry heavy bombs and was viewed outdated as soon as the Lancaster and Halifax were released. 10 Boeing B-29 Superfortress - USA.
