  3. Cheam is a ‘singing school’ with the hope that every child feels comfortable using their voice. In the Chapel context, this means connecting with the hymns and becoming an active participant in the services. Congers normally starts with a series of vocal games, echo songs and rounds.

  5. Cheam school was founded sometime before 1646, and may have used either Whitehall or West Cheam manor house as its original home. The manor house was demolished in 1796. At the 1801 census, the 616 inhabitants were concentrated in three clusters: around Whitehall, around the church and on the High Street.

  6. Cheam will continue to refine its curriculum so that it provides our pupils with the very best skills for their Senior School experience. Boarding is a key part of our offering and a wonderful opportunity to promote leadership amongst our boarders as they enjoy and learn from the 24/7 experience that Cheam boarding provides.

  7. Year 7 students are encouraged to be at school by 8:20am to ensure a prompt start to the day. A typical day at Cheam starts with tutor time or assembly and continues until the end of period 5 which is at 3.00pm for Year 7 students. Tutor time - 8.30am - 9.00am. Period 1 - 9.00am - 10.00am. Break - 10.00am - 10.20am. Period 2 - 10.20am - 11.20am.
