Larry Bishop was born on November 30, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and grew up in New Jersey. He's the son of famous Rat Pack comic Joey Bishop. Larry attended high school in Beverly Hills, California. After graduation Bishop was briefly in an improvisational group whose other members included Rob Reiner, Albert Brooks and Richard Dreyfuss.
Bishop also had roles in the 1970 TV movie "High Midnight" (CBS), and "The Girl From Left Field" (ABC, 1973). Like many others, Bishop decided that if he was to get meatier roles, he would have to write them himself, but in case, unlike so many others, the attempt worked.
