History Predecessor groups (1958–1965) In 1958, Winnipeg singer/guitarist Chad Allan formed a local rock band called Al and the Silvertones. After several lineup changes, the band stabilized in 1962 under the name Chad Allan and the Reflections, which included Allan and keyboardist Bob Ashley, plus future Guess Who mainstays Randy Bachman on guitar, Jim Kale on bass, and Garry Peterson on drums.

3 de mai. de 2024 · The Guess Who, Canadian rock group that was the most successful band in Canada in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The principal members were Chad Allan, Randy Bachman, Garry Peterson, Jim Kale, Burton Cummings, Kurt Winter, and Greg Leskiw. Hit songs included ‘American Woman,’ ‘No Time,’ and ‘Laughing.’
After The Guess Who broke up, various former members of that band attempted reunion tours with floating lineups. Winter briefly joined a lineup led by bassist Jim Kale in 1977–78, and contributed to the album Guess Who's Back. Winter then retired from the music industry and resided in Winnipeg for the rest of his life.
