Choate Rosemary Hall is a co-educational boarding and day school in Wallingford, Connecticut, providing a transformative educational experience for 850 students in grades 9-12. Choate is dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cohesive community that celebrates diversity and instills life-long habits of learning, leadership, and service.
In 1890, Rosemary Hall, a school for girls was founded by Mary Atwater Choate. Six years later, Mary’s husband, Judge William G. Choate, established The Choate School for boys. The two schools merged in 1974, building on the strengths of common roots, and inspiring excellence for future generations of students.

29 de mar. de 2019 · After receiving an offer from wealthy patrons in 1900, Rosemary Hall was relocated to Greenwich, Connecticut, where it remained separate from The Choate School for seven decades. Then, coinciding with the movement for co-education in the late 1900s, Rosemary Hall returned to Wallingford and reunited with The Choate School in 1971.
