Há 5 dias · He presided over the unification of the two schools in 1984, which created Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and the Performing Arts (about which the movie Fame was based). Under his leadership, the successor school became what is arguably the finest public high school of the arts in the United States.
The music department has notably sent its students to the country's top music schools, including Seoul National University's College of Music, and the internationally renowned Curtis Institute of Music and Juilliard School in the United States. The art and dance departments are also well-known for high-achieving graduates as well.
Summer School Begins: July 10, 2024. Summer School Ends: August 15, 2024. Regents Exams: August 19 & 20, 2024. Monday through Thursday, in person. 7:45 am to 2:27 pm. 3 periods each lasting about 123 minutes. Lunch will be between 2nd and 3rd period.
