  4. The Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service was founded in 1919 as the first school of international affairs in the United States. It offers a range of undergraduate and graduate programs in Washington, D.C., and through Georgetown's campus in Doha, Qatar.

  5. Created as the first U.S. school of international affairs, the Walsh School of Foreign Service vowed to train young leaders to serve the world. Now in its second century, at a time of unprecedented global uncertainty, SFS is called once again to prepare a new generation for foreign service—in new ways that reflect the challenges ahead.

Established in January 2019, the Center for Security and Emerging Technology (CSET) at Georgetown’s Walsh School of Foreign Service is a research organization focused on studying the security impacts of emerging technologies, supporting academic work in security and technology studies, and delivering nonpartisan analysis to the policy community.
