27 de abr. de 2022 · James Maitland, 7th Earl of Lauderdale was born on 23 January 1718. He was the son of Charles Maitland, 6th Earl of Lauderdale and Lady Elizabeth Ogilvy. He married Mary Lombe, daughter of Sir Thomas Lombe and Mary Turner, on 24 April 1749. He died on 17 August 1789 at age 71.
James Maitland, 9th Earl of Lauderdale (12 May 1784 – 22 August 1860), styled Viscount Maitland between 1789 and 1839, was a British peer and Whig politician.
He was one of the sixteen Scottish Peers in the ninth Parliament of Great Britain. On July 15, 1710 he married Lady Elizabeth Ogilvie, daughter of James, Earl of Findlater and Seafield. Charles was the last Lord Chancellor of Scotland. His children included: James, 7th Earl of Lauderdale. General Sir Alexander Maitland, 1st Baronet of Cliftom.
