Devolver begint geweldig met Don't Give it Away, maar daarna is het vooral terug naar Adams middelmaat. Bij FM dacht ik dat ik de plaat vaker zou draaien en doe dat nooit. Ik ben bang dat Devolver een zelfde lot wacht. Wat Tonio zegt: een producer en een vaste band moeten Ryan terug aan de top brengen.

The one thing I will say about Devolver and FM in comparison with Chris and R&J is that there is a sound to them, and that sound is distinctive and distinguishable against other releases. Ryan Adams is insane in the greatest way. Reminds me of Rock N Roll. I've given this a couple of listens through and I like it. There are hooks, some some sound quite fresh with a 60s pop vibe even. It's actually quite a concise collection of solid songs. Oh my gosh.
