Opening the Doors. September 25, 1997. President Clinton, Governor Mike Huckabee, Mayor Jim Dailey, and the Little Rock Nine participated in the 40th Anniversary of the desegregation of Little Rock Central High School. President Clinton met the nine African American students in a ceremony on the front steps of the school.
