He was educated at King William’s College on the Isle of Man, and later he graduated from the Royal Military College at Sandhurst in 1926 after which he served in the Manchester Regiment stationed in Burma.
Jack Churchill (1906 – 1996), sometimes known as “Fighting Jack” or “Mad Jack” Churchill is an outstanding example of how some individual officers fought World War Two in their own way and on their own terms, and succeeded. He led from the front, and his unique skills and boldness contributed to his own survival and that of his troops.

In ’39, the championship was in its eighth year, and it still runs today, but during the war years it did not run, and Jack Churchill had to find another venue to display his abilities with this particular weapon.
