Iseult Gonne (1894–1954), her daughter with Millevoye, was educated at a Carmelite convent in Laval, France. When she returned to Ireland she was referred to as Maud's niece or cousin rather than daughter. She was to attract the admiration of literary figures including Ezra Pound, Lennox Robinson and Liam O'Flaherty.

Gonne, Iseult (1894–1954), writer and muse, was born 6 August 1894 in Paris, daughter of Lucien Millevoye, French politician, lawyer, and journalist, and Maud Gonne (qv), Irish revolutionary nationalist. She was their second child and was conceived in the memorial chapel of their first, short-lived son, Georges.

Iseult Gonne (1894-1954) Maud had two children from of an affair with French politician Lucien Millevoye. George, in 1890, who died as an infant of meningitis, and Iseult in 1894. At the time, Maud was campaigning in Ireland for rights for tenant famers and living in France. No one knew that she had a lover and children in France.
