Paul Sawtell (born Sawatzki, 3 February 1906, Gilwe, Poland [1] – 1 August 1971) was a Polish -born film score composer in the United States. Sawtell began his career with RKO, and eventually joined Universal Pictures.
Polish-born composer and violinist, under contract at RKO from 1938. Sawtell was initially hired as a writer of music for serialised B-pictures, which included the 'Mexican Spitfire' and 'Falcon' series.

US Polish composer, arranger and orchestra leader. He was born on February 3, 1906 in Gilve, Poland and died on August 1, 1971 in Los Angeles. He started his career at RKO studios in the 1930s, then moved to Universal, where his first assignment was scoring "The Pearl of Death" (1944).
