Robert Lee Zemeckis (Chicago, 14 de maio de 1951) [1] é um cineasta, produtor e roteirista estadunidense. Sua família é de origem lituana e iugoslava . Zemeckis graduou-se na Escola de Televisão e Cinema da Universidade do Sul da Califórnia , e recebeu o primeiro impulso na carreira ao ganhar um prêmio da Academia ainda como estudante, com o filme A Field of Honor , em 1973.
